Information Technology Specialist III

BGI is seeking a motivated individual to provide Tier III technical support for Information Technology and Systems.  Candidates with Tier II proficiency will also be considered.  The individual will support the IT team with the fulfillment of IT services to internal and external customers.  BGI’s growing business has resulted in a need to modernize.  The individual will be responsible for defining, deploying and maintaining the evolving IT systems. 
The employee will have secondary duties in adjacent domains of Cybersecurity and/or DevOps.  In Cybersecurity, the employee will be included in a team comprising IT, Security and Engineering representatives.  Together they will define and deploy solutions meant to improve the Cybersecurity posture.  In DevOps, the employee will be embedded in an engineering team, providing direct customer support in deployment of web application solutions for BGI’s Flight Data Analysis products. 
This position’s responsibilities require independent analysis, communication and problem solving.  The work is performed with little supervision and requires initiative and judgement.

Job Responsibilities:
The primary duty is in IT.  The ideal individual will have Tier III proficiency in the following areas.  Candidates with Tier II proficiency will be considered.
Enterprise server hardware
Network architecture and device configuration
Virtualized servers and desktops
Enterprise web applications support/development (primarily Windows Server family, secondary Linux, IIS, Apache, Tomcat, Exchange, SharePoint, intranet/internet web hosted applications)
Database management (MySQL, SQL, PostgreSQL)
Disaster recovery planning and testing
Cloud, hybrid and local hosting
Defining, deploying and managing cyber security environment for all IT components
Regulatory compliance (DoD/NIST standards)
Support management assessments with research, metrics and reports (budgets, compliance)

The ideal candidate will support Cybersecurity and/or DevOps projects.  Duties in these secondary domains are described below.
   Maintain BGI’s SIEM platform/thoroughly investigate security alerts and/or indicated anomalies
   Develop, implement and tune threat correlation routines as related to SIEM
   Conduct research and development in the area of cyber security to proactively propose improvements to strengthen the security posture of BGI’s IS
   Leverage, implement, and adjust security tools and processes to proactively hunt for indications of compromise
   Provide expertise in pen testing, vulnerability assessment, IDS/IPS configuration/monitoring, email security, firewalls, TCP/IP packet      analysis, and log analysis
   Conduct analysis and interpret cybersecurity threat intelligence to identify emerging threats and vulnerabilities
   Maintain liaison with organizations involved with information sharing in Cybersecurity (e.g. Infragard)
   Participate in system development with a software development/software engineering team
   Develop and support infrastructure deployment to virtualized environment
   Create, define and manage configuration management and continuous integration & delivery solutions
   Experience with AWS and Azure platforms
   Deployment in regulated environment (e.g. AWS GovCloud)
   Experience with Hadoop ecosystem including infrastructure, data modeling and applications

Required and/or Preferred Qualifications:
Previous work or education in Information Assurance or related topic
Ability to secure a security clearance

Education, License, Credential Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in technology field preferred or equivalent experience

5+ years of experience

Special Knowledge and Skills: 
Must be a proactive self-starter
Must have solid written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical skills, creative thinking, and knowledge of security operations
NISPOM, CH8/RMF knowledge a plus
Knowledge of 3rd party anti-virus protocols
Confluence/Crucible/JIRA experience
Webserver experience (Apache preferred)
Database experience (MySQL, SQL, PostgreSQL)
SAN experience
TCP/IP networking (Firewall/Switching/Routing, WAN, VPN)
Active Directory experience
Configuration management
Virtual server experience
Security related certification a plus
Bachelor of Science degree with a concentration in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security or equivalent prior work experience in a related field
One or more industry certifications (or achieve within 12 months) – CISSP, GIAC, etc.
