May, 1, 2010 - BGI Establishes New Corporate Headquarters in Akron, Ohio - World-wide defense contractor specializing in aircraft simulation, training and safety programs, is relocating its corporate headquarters to Akron, Ohio in May of this year. BGI has maintained an office in Akron since 2005 and has numerous other offices and work locations throughout the United States to include Fort Worth, Orlando and Lexington Park in southern Maryland. Earlier this year, BGI senior management decided to relocate the corporate headquarters to its recently expanded office space in Akron’s downtown Canal Place office complex. BGI’s Akron office has historically provided the base of operations for Engineering and Project Management Divisions dedicated to supporting technical projects for a wide range of domestic and international customers, and will continue to do so. The headquarters move will help ensure that important administrative functions which sustain BGI’s distributed business model are channeled through a single set of well-coordinated support functions. “It makes sound business sense to leverage the investment we have made into full time staff and resources already in place in the Akron office,” remarked company President, Dave Devol. BGI is a unique and innovative, veteran-owned business that brings together highly experienced leaders and managers, systems engineers, software engineers, and operational subject matter experts from a variety of backgrounds. BGI provides a wide array of engineering, training, simulation and operational support services, which match customer needs with a uniquely qualified team of experts to solve real problems in today’s complex mission and training environments. The Canal Place buildings trace back to the original B. F. Goodrich Company headquarters established in the late 1800’s. The buildings were purchased and restored by Covington Capital Corporation.
