All of us who are familiar with government acquisition programs probably have some kind of story to tell about a program that came in over budget, beyond the planned schedule, and not meeting the needs of the Warfighter. At BGI, our job is to create and maintain a close watch over the operational needs of the Warfighter or End User, and the shape the solution takes along each step of the Systems Engineering Process. This remains our core focus regardless of what part of Our Solution we are providing. By acting as a watchdog over the desired outcome throughout the program lifecycle, BGI helps control requirements creep, minimizes redesign and helps keep the effort within planned cost and schedule.

What does my company stand to gain by working with BGI?
The immediate benefit is a closer connection to the Joint Services end user. Many government customers know that BGI presence on a program means that someone who speaks the Warfighter’s language will be ensuring the end game technical solution matches up with operational requirements.
Why can’t I just rely on the government to provide operational oversight for our program?
Tight budgets and personnel availability have stretched government and military resources such that end users have little time to dedicate to acquisition efforts. When they are available, they often support multiple programs and cannot provide the necessary continuity; hence the need for BGI.
Couldn’t we just hire our own Subject Matter Expert(s) instead of relying on BGI?
Sure. But BGI has extended the traditional SME role into a value-added position we call the Operational Analyst. Our OA’s are trained on industry standards, quality processes, and current technologies. We also retain a pool of “the best of the best” personnel from a variety of operational backgrounds, and can combine this collective knowledge into scalable solutions that exceed the capability of an internal hire.
What does BGI specifically offer in terms of products and services?
Please visit our Products and Services tabs to find out more.
How soon can you provide expertise to my program?
Our employees total over 100, and we support multiple industry and government programs at any given time. If the right expertise is not already on staff, our network within the operational community can normally yield a good fit within a month’s time or less.
What sets BGI apart in terms of non-Operational Analyst services?
Our approach to any technical effort is to fully understand the operational requirements first, and ensure OA participation throughout. This ultimately saves on cost and schedule by avoiding excessive discrepancies and redesign when the system undergoes acceptance. Our Products are also developed by having our OA’s develop a thorough Concept of Operations (CONOPS) document from which the technical requirements and specifications may be derived.
What are your rates like?
BGI offers competitive, DCAA-audited rates across multiple labor categories. Our software is packaged with baseline catalog pricing, and we provide detailed pricing for any necessary customization.
How do we get started?
We prefer to collaborate with our customers and teammates to develop a detailed Statement of Work that allows us to tailor a best-value pricing solution, but we can be responsive to just about any sort of customer request.
