What exactly is GSA MAS 99?
GSA MAS 99 refers to the General Services Administration (GSA) Multiple Award Schedule (MAS) Program. Its solicitation is found in betaSAM.gov and classified as Product Service Code: 99 – MISCELLANEOUS, ergo “GSA MAS 99.” Also referred to as the “Schedule,” MAS 99 is the premier contract vehicle for the federal government. The Schedule Program is a long term government wide contract between commercial suppliers – such as BGI – and the federal government. Schedule holders give federal buyers access to millions of commercial products and services at negotiated ceiling prices. These purchases represent approximately 21 percent of overall federal procurement spending – approximately $42 Billion per year!
The GSA MAS solicitation is comprised of Large Categories, Subcategories, and Special Item Numbers (SINs). Currently, the GSA MAS hosts 12 large categories representing available products and services with offerings further refined through classification into one of 83 subcategories. Finally, specific products or services are defined to reflect areas of expertise through one of over 300 available SINs mapped to corresponding North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) codes.
Holding a Schedule contract can open doors for BGI to conduct business, but it requires effort and commitment to succeed. The Schedule contract will need to be managed, marketed, and opportunities actively pursued. Bottom line, winning a Schedule contract is not the “end” but instead it’s simply the “means to an end”.
The Information Technology category of the MAS Program offers IT Services, Hardware, Software, and a variety of specialty IT offerings. Previously known as IT Schedule 70, this is one of the largest government contracts. BGI is widely regarded for its expertise in Information Technology and the exceptional delivery of their associated products and services, thus will offer performance in the following Subcategory and SIN:
