BGI Accelerates Practical AI Adoption

BGI, LLC (BGI) continues its commitment to continuous improvement, operational excellence, and positive impact to the Warfighter by investing in practical, secure artificial intelligence capabilities. We are pleased to announce the creation of the Manager, Applied AI Solutions position to lead these initiatives.

This new leadership position reports to the Chief Operating Officer and serves as BGI’s hands-on AI implementation leader. The Manager, Applied AI Solutions is responsible for identifying, developing, implementing, and governing practical artificial intelligence solutions that improve business performance, operational efficiency, decision quality, and employee productivity across the company. The role translates executive priorities, departmental needs, and emerging AI capabilities into secure, compliant, and measurable business solutions that work across segments and functional departments.

Aligning with Department of War Priorities and Best Practices

BGI’s approach to applied AI is deliberately grounded in the principles and messaging emphasized by the Department of War and the broader defense industrial base. We treat AI as a powerful thought partner and force multiplier—not a replacement for human judgment—while prioritizing responsibility, security, and accountability.

Key focus areas include:

  • Auditable and Traceable AI — Building governance practices that emphasize tool approval, acceptable use, data handling rules, risk management, mandatory human review, and auditability. This supports DoW Responsible AI tenets of being Traceable, Reliable, and Governable.
  • Secure and Compliant Implementation — Partnering closely with cyber operations, cybersecurity, quality assurance, contracts, and security personnel to ensure tools operate only in approved environments. Emphasis is placed on Microsoft 365, GCC High, SharePoint, Teams, Planner, Lists, Power Platform, and CUI-compatible commercial suites such as Ask Sage.
  • Efficiency, Quality, and Process Improvement — Targeting high-value use cases that reduce manual effort, strengthen decision support, improve document drafting and knowledge management, and drive measurable gains in productivity and execution quality.
  • Innovation with Guardrails — Developing AI implementation roadmaps aligned with company strategy, operational priorities, cybersecurity requirements, and compliance obligations. Creating usage guides, prompt libraries, standard operating procedures, templates, and training materials so employees and managers can use AI effectively, responsibly, and securely.
  • Support for Acquisition and Mission Outcomes — Enabling faster, higher-quality internal processes that ultimately strengthen BGI’s ability to deliver advanced training solutions, support program execution, and contribute to the broader goals of acquisition reform and decision advantage for the Warfighter.

These priorities directly support BGI’s Enabling Objectives, particularly continuous process improvement, compliance, and cybersecurity along with the establishment, maintenance, and upgrade of infrastructure to meet internal and external demands. They also reinforce our Strategic Approach & Vision of empowering people, equipping them with the right resources, and effecting solutions that deliver positive impact to the Warfighter.

Strengthening BGI’s Foundation for the Future

As a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business with an ISO 9001:2015-certified Quality Management System, a cleared facility, and CMMC Level 2 (Advanced) certification, BGI already maintains a strong posture for handling sensitive information. The Manager, Applied AI Solutions role formalizes and accelerates our ability to leverage emerging technologies in a manner consistent with that posture.

The individual in this corporate role will serve as the internal subject matter expert for applied AI solutions—including generative AI, workflow automation, knowledge management, data analysis, document drafting, process improvement, and decision support—while providing periodic reports to senior leadership on initiatives, status, risks, adoption, and measurable business impact.

BGI remains focused on practical results rather than technology for its own sake. By embedding responsible AI practices into daily operations, we aim to free our people to apply their expertise where it matters most: integrating operational, technical, and engineering knowledge to enhance customer capability and drive positive impact to the Warfighter in aviation, training, and defense programs.

We look forward to new capabilities generated by this role as BGI continues its journey of intentional growth and mission-focused innovation.
